Potty Time

I almost forgot to share the good news!!!
We arrived in KS on Wens afternoon and out of the blue that evening Cayden requested to go sit on the potty(with his motioning & 'uh'uh' communication skills). This was no big deal to me as he wants to sit on the potty more often than not. My mom took him and I can hear her saying, "Good Boy!" I go runny back there and he is all smiles...he looks down at his 'noodle' grunts and tinkles again, says "Wow!" and does it again. I bet we went back to the potty 5 or 6x in a short amount of time and EVERY time he tinkled in the potty. I was so PROUD!
Of course my family thought that I MUST run to the store and buy pull ups for him. I think that jinks us....he hasn't done much since that night. Although the next morning when he woke up the first thing that he wanted to do was sit on the potty....nothing. And before we got in the shower he sat on the potty with only minimal results. Now he seems to have no interest in sitting on the potty no matter how interesting & fun I make it sound.
Keeping my fingers crossed!!!

FaceBook

Ok.....so I FINALLY signed up on facebook. I have to be honest and say that I am not sure that I am that fond of it. I guess with time it will grow on me. It would probably help if I was online more so that I could keep up or fiqure out what was going on.
I finally got the blog stuff down and now it is facebook......I am never going to be able to keep up.
Maybe when the boys get bigger they can teach me all this stuff...hehe!!!

KS Trip

What was I thinking?! Traveling 5+ hours with 2 baby boys in the backseat....next to each other. Seemed like a good idea at the time. That was the LONGEST trip of my life! Cayden cried, no screamed, for the first 2 hrs.....nothing that I tried to offer him worked, I even pulled over to try to satisfy him...no go! During all this commotion, Colton was asleep within the first 20 mins of the trip. Finally Cayden calmed down and gave in to his sleepy eyes....just about to enjoy the peace & quiet.....then the crys began again only this time it was Colton, so much for Cayden sleeping! I let it go on for awhile then I finally pulled off onto the "scenic overlook", which by the way there was nothing scenic about it! Let Cayden out of his seat to stand awhile, made Colton a bottle. Standing there, sweating in the heat & the heat from the car, Colton not really drinking his bottle, Cayden still not satisfied. After 10 mins or so and neither one of them really appreciating the fact that I had pulled over and was pulling out ALL of the stops to please them I decided to give up and just drive with the music LOUD! I tried dancing & singing to make them happy but I guess that I am just not that entertaining. Finally they both passed out! YEAH!! Not for long though, Cayden would randomly wake up and cry until he fell back to sleep. OH MY! I have no idea what the deal was but I about lost my mind! I told Cody & Mom that I wasn't sure if I would b able to make the trip back home by myself without losing my mind........

Not even right......

...he is getting to be such a big boy! He sits up on his own, is ALL over the
place...he can crawl but prefers to army crawl much more.
We went to his 6 month checkup yesterday (over a month late--oops!) and
he weighs almost 20 pounds! That's my BIG boy! We keep
warning Cayden that he will soon pass him up and
that boy better watch out! HEHE!!!
Doc says that he is in the 90th percentile on his weight
& his length. I don't think that either one of my boys will have an issue with their
height...thx to their Daddy!

Doesn't that smile just make you want to eat him up!!!!
YUMYUM!!

My boy is almost 2!!!!
How time flys.

We had Cayden's Birthday party Saturday. It was a last minute decision & poor planning on my part. I even BOUGHT the invites! Cody's parents were going to be here for the races
& my parents were here to watch the boys so that my sis and I could attend the GASC so
I decided to go ahead and have his party a weekend early so that they
could both be here to celebrate with us.
I thought that it was a nice thought on my part. Then I had to
have it at 10am so that Lynn would be able to attend, she missed his 1st birthday, they had another bday party at noon. I think that everything went well. Even Cody's Uncle Kenny & Melissa were in town for the races so they
were able to join us.
Cayden LOVED all of his gifts! His Aunt Sonya got him a bubble machine, I got him a
lawn mower-boy he LOVES that thing!
I can't believe in only a few days it will be true, my boy WILL be 2!!!

OUCHY!!!

My poor boy seems to be sooo clumsy sometimes.
I guess that he gets that from me.
We went shopping yesterday and the boys missed their naps so they
were both fussy. We were finally finished getting all the bargains we could find
and were almost to the car when I heard it....the horrible noise from behind....I could hear him
hit the pavement. Colton & I were already at the car; Cayden & Nana were only a car or
2 away. Cayden fell, we still aren't sure if he tripped over something or just his own feet. I didn't see anything that he might have tripped over but I wasn't concerned with the ground at the moment. Nana picked him up and he was still silently
screaming, trying to catch his breath. He screamed out and wanted me and when
I took him he held on to my neck as tight as he could. I was trying to get him
to look at me so that I could see exactly how bad it was or if he was just exhausted.
When he lifted his head there was sooo much blood...it looked like it was everywhere!
His mouth was bleeding AND it looked like he had a nose bleed also!
Of course he wouldn't let me check it out so I just put a baby wipe & a burp
rag to try to stop the bleeding. I bet we sat on the back of the van for at least 45 minutes, calming him down and trying to check out the damage. Then, once the situation was under
control & my boy was ready to get on with something else, we had to sit there and let
me calm down. After I had done my motherly duty, taking care of my boy, I was sweating bullets, got a little dizzy, nausea, I felt like crying & passing out.
Cayden has had a bloody mouth before so it didn't seem to get to me at first. But when I looked over and saw the PILE of bloody wipes and the saturated burp rag I about lost it.
I am wimpy when it comes to blood.
I have to say, he is ALL boy!

As you can see, he is doing just fine now. He finally noticed his lip in the mirror this afternoon, looked at me, then the mirror, then me...touched his lip and said "WOW"
He has been eating and drinking like nothing is wrong. Every now & then he will touch it
and say "Ouch" after he takes a drink or a bite.
For the most part, I think that it is bothering me more than it is him.
